Many enjoyed summer’s last hurrah

Lake Milton boaters

Labor Day is seen by many as the last day of summer before they head back to work or school, and there were quite a few people spending the holiday at the lake on Monday.

Dozens were enjoying themselves on the waters of Lake Milton, where there were boaters, jet skiers and swimmers, as well as several people having a picnic.

“It’s just small enough that you can  get around it easy and quick and get out here real quick, then it doesn’t crowd up too much either so it’s just a great place to come out and have some fun,” said Ron Schultz of Poland.

“This is our last day on the boat, so we figured that we’d come out here and have fun on Labor Day and go tubing,” said Cara Loible.

“Fantastic fishery, loaded with small mouth, large mouth and recently the Division of Wildlife’s been doing a great job with the musky here, so I caught a really giant musky today,” said Dan Blackert of Akron.
