A Rogers man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a rollover crash on state Route 7 in Elk Run Township Wednesday evening.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Jack Artrup, 43, of Rogers, was heading north on Route 7 just north of the Middle Beaver Road intersection about 6 p.m. when he went off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail, continued through the weeds and then cut back up the embankment and across the road, striking a rock, several trees and overturning. He was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger.
Artrup was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger, Pam Bradds, 45, also of Rogers, was taken by helicopter from Beaver Meadows Par 3 Golf Course to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with non-life threatening injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lisbon post said alcohol is suspected in the crash and neither victim was wearing a seat belt.
