BOARDMAN – The Cardinal Mooney offense had little trouble finding the endzone as they cruised to a 42-14 win over host Boardman.

Leading 28-14 at halftime, the Cardinals came out in the second quarter looking to put the game away.

Following a Spartan fumble in the third quarter, the Cardinals’ Jon Saadey connected with Tim Durkin on a 34 yard touchdown, putting Mooney up 35-14.

Later in the quarter, Mooney turned to Saadey once again. Using his legs instead of his arm, Saadey took the ball on a keeper but pitched the ball to CJ Amill before he was tackled. Amill took the pitch and carried the ball 39 yards for the score, putting the game out of reach.

Boardman (0-2)  will travel to Poland next week.

Cardinal Mooney (1-1) will travel to Akron Buchtel on Saturday.
