Leading 28-0 in the second quarter and taking a 28-6 lead into halftime, the Hubbard Eagles looked to be on their way to a week 2 victory.

But, the Indians continued to chip away at the Eagle lead.

A third quarter touchdown narrowed the Eagle lead to 28-13.

On the ensuing kickoff, Hubbard was fooled by an onside kick, recovered by the Indians.

With less than 8 minutes remaining in the third, Girard’s Nicke Cardiero scored from three yards out, making it 28-20.

In the fourth quarter, and Hubbard driving, Trevor Gump intercepted a pass on their own 20 yard line, giving the Indians hope.

Down eight, Jordan Graziano pulled down a 69 yard touchdown pass, pulling the Indians within two points, but a failed two point conversion would prove to be the difference as the Indians rally fell just short.

Hubbard’s star running back, LJ Scott picked up 69 yards on his first carry of the game but only played a couple plays after and was forced to leave the game with an injury.
