Blue Jays end their skid

To say that this past year has been challenging for both Rootstown and Jackson-Milton would be an understatement. Entering tonight’s game, Rootstown had lost 9 straight while Jackson-Milton had dropped 14 in a row.

However, tonight the Blue Jays opened a 55-0 lead en route to a 55-15 victory. Jackson-Milton outgained the Rovers, 581-113. Tyler Shaffer scored 4 touchdowns on the ground while compiling 104 yards. Jeremy Fitzpatrick threw for 277 yards on 13 of 18.

Rootstown (0-2) will now turn its’ attention towards their home opener against East Canton. The Blue Jays (1-1) will travel to Windham for a pivotal week three contest.
