Covelli Enterprises has extended its naming rights to the Covelli Centre in downtown Youngstown.

In an announcement on Friday, the corporation agreed to renew its three-year contract with the center. The extension includes a $200,000 commitment per year from Covelli Enterprises from May 2013 to April 2016.

“When our company agreed to put our name on the Centre in 2009, we did it because of our commitment to the community and our belief in Eric Ryan and his team to turn the Centre around,” said Owner and CEO Sam Covelli. “In the past four years, with the overwhelming support of this community what has happened at the centre has exceeded my expectations.”

Under the Covelli name, the arena has enjoyed 10 sold out shows in the past year, including performances by Carrie Underwood, Kid Rock, Rascal Flatts and other entertainment such as Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus and Monster Trucks.

Eric Ryan, president of JAC Management Group, said the success of the center is directly related to the partnership with Covelli Enterprises.

“Covelli Enterprises has made every effort to help us succeed,” said Ryan. “Sam and Caryn Covelli have done so much for us, words cannot explain our gratitude.”

Covelli said that not only has the center become profitable, but it also has  improved the quality of life for the community.
