A candidate for Youngstown mayor is behind bars.

John Crea, who’s listed as an independent candidate, pleaded not guilty to aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct. He’s being held in jail on $7,000 bond.

According to police reports, Crea threatened a city hall security guard on Aug. 30.

Crea was allegedly blocking one of the doors to city hall with his dog. After he refused to move, he threatened to kill the guard as well as have his dog bite the guard.

Crea signed his dog over to Animal Charity.
