NEW WILMINGTON CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY
The milestone celebration kicked off with a parade to celebrate 150 years.

A huge birthday bash for the borough of New Wilmington on Saturday.

The milestone celebration kicked off with a parade to celebrate 150 years. Flags, banners and balloons lined Neshanock Avenue for the festivities.

Carol Short moved to New Wilmington 38 years ago. She said in New Wilmington, everyone makes you feel welcome, and there’s a lot to see and do.

“The history of the buildings, the Underground Railroad, the Tavern on the Square, the slaves used to go through it. It’s just a lot of history in New Wilmington, and our Amish people are wonderful. They teach us a lot,” said Short.

The celebration continues on Sunday, starting off with a 5k race.
