Church members in Columbiana County helped renovate a playground over the weekend.

Emmanuel Lutheran and Holy Trinity Lutheran church members were out painting and putting down mulch at the playground in Centennial Park.

It is a part of a community service project by Lutheran Churches. It symbolizes the coming together of the Lutheran church.

They wanted to do something that the community would enjoy.

“We decieded with our children using it as well as our grandchildren and great grandchildren we want it to stay here for the future because it is such a good thing,” said Sandy Cape of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

The churches also had a school supply collection for teachers of Buckeye Elementary School.
