CANTON, Miss. (AP) — How do you bring an alligator hunter to tears? Drop down on one knee and ask her, “Will you marry me?”
Jimmy Greer of Madison proposed to Elizabeth Ratcliff of Canton during preparations for her family’s annual alligator hunt. He had help from Titan, their dog. Around Titan’s neck was a sign reading, “Will You Marry My Daddy?”
Ratcliffe tells The Clarion-Ledger (http://on.thec-l.com/17iBldn) they’d been talking about marriage. But she figured he might propose at the start of archery season, because the families go bow hunting together. Gator hunts are her family’s thing, though Greer has been joining them for about five years.
His parents were at Ratcliffe’s parents’ house to take photos of the proposal.
The wedding will be in October. Greer and Ratcliffe plan a bow-hunting honeymoon.
