Man’s decomposing body found in Pittsburgh suburb

OAKMONT, Pa. (AP) — An autopsy was set on the decomposing remains of a man found on a wooded hillside in a Pittsburgh suburb.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office planned the examination Monday.

The remains were found about 3:50 p.m. Saturday in Oakmont, a suburb about 10 miles northeast of the city, along the Allegheny River.

Authorities have said they believe the remains are those of a man in his 50s, but have stopped short of saying whether they are those of a disabled 53-year-old Army veteran man who was last seen late on Aug. 30.
