Debbie Gibson, a 1980s pop star, is promoting music she composed for an upcoming musical.
Gibson said Monday during a stop at WKBN that she will only perform during one of the touring “Cirque Musica” stops— in Youngstown.
“This is actually the one and only city I’m performing in because I was invited to work on the creative team and compose a couple original songs for it,” Gibson said. “And I was like, I’m kind of jealous I don’t get to perform in it. The producers said we have these dates that actually would be a great fit if you wanted to step in.”
Gibson, who is known for hits like “Shake Your Love” and “Electric Youth,” will perform in both shows on Sept. 25 and Sept. 26 at the Covelli Centre.
The show features symphonic and pop music paired with unique, circus-based acts.
