Sebring teachers continue talks with district

college tuition

No agreement has been reached between the Sebring Local Education Association and the Sebring Local Board of Education despite a bargaining session that lasted several hours on Wednesday.

Union spokesperson Heidi Shepherd said teachers returned to the classroom earlier this month without a contract because they care about the students. She said progress was made in Wednesday’s talks and she is hoping a contract will be hammered out at the next bargaining session on Sept. 23.

The teachers contract expired Aug. 31 and two negotiating sessions were held over the summer. There already have been two bargaining sessions this school year.
