Home where Elmore Leonard lived to be sold

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — The suburban Detroit home where author Elmore Leonard lived is being listed for sale for $2.4 million.

The Detroit News reports (http://bit.ly/1e1lF3x ) the five-bedroom house is nearly 5,000 square feet and sits on 1.3 acres in Oakland County’s Bloomfield Township. Adam Waechter, associate broker Hall & Hunter Realtors, says it’s to be listed Thursday.

The 1940 home includes four fireplaces, a pool and a tennis court.

Leonard died Aug. 20 at age 87 from complications of a stroke he suffered a few weeks earlier.

Leonard won an honorary National Book Award in 2012, and fans made best-sellers out of pretty much every one of his books since 1985′s “Glitz.” Hollywood adapted his work into dozens of movies and TV shows, including the films “Out of Sight” and “Get Shorty.”
