Hole in one golfer wins new car

An avid golfer picked up the keys to his new car after a hole in one at the Michael Hartzell Charity Golf Outing.

Taylor Hall of Poland golfed in the outing to honor fallen Youngstown Police Officer Michael Hartzell for the first time this past July. On the 18th hole, he shot his very first hole in one.

Hall won a two-year lease on a new Ford Fusion from Donnell Ford in Boardman.

The dealership has offered a vehicle at the Hartzell Outing for the last five years. This is the first time they gave away the prize.

“You couldn’t really tell it went it. I hit it right at the flag again, took one bounce and hopped in,” said Hall. “I thought I might have gone over the back of the green, but the witness up at the green said it went in when we went up there. It was a good feeling.”

The money raised at the Hartzell outing funds scholarships for children of police officers attending Youngstown State University.
