Tree cuts power, closes busy road

A tree brought down power lines late Thursday in Lordstown causing power outages and a road closure.

The tree fell around 10:30 p.m. on Salts Springs Road during the thunderstorms that rolled through the Valley. Officials said on Friday the tree caused caused 11 power-line poles.

Power was out in Lordstown for a few hours but has since been restored.

Salts Springs Road between Tod Avenue and Bailey Road is closed as crews work to remove the tree. The road reopened at about 3 p.m. Friday.
