MASSILLON – Year in and year out, Ursuline plays one of the tougher schedules in the state. Tonight, the Irish are in the middle of a three-game road stretch which put them in Massillon against Jackson High School. Ursuline jumped out to a 14-0 lead over the Polar Bears.
Then, Jackson came back to tie the game in the 4th quarter (14-14). However, the Irish got by the Bears, 21-14, on a Kimauni Johnson 11-yard touchdown.
The game featured a total of 8 turnovers, 3 by Ursuline and 5 interceptions by Jackson. The Irish gained close to 400 total yards of offense.
Through their first two games, Jackson had scored 85 points although they had given up 80.
The Irish will head north to take on Aquinas Institute (NY) on Saturday while Jackson plays the night before at Lake, in their Federal League opener.
