Arms features historical fashion

Fashionistas can see historical fashion through the years as part of a new exhibit at the Arms Family Museum in Youngstown.

The brand-new exhibit, “20th Century Style,” debuted this week.

Each gown displayed was carefully chosen to represent different eras over the past 100-plus years.

Jeanne Tyler donated clothing items of her own, as well as ones worn by her mother and grandmother.

“It’s really a time span of 20th century fashion and the history of fashion right here in this room,” said Dorothy Facciobene, guide at Arms Family Museum. “It’s very special to us because fashion reflects the times, and we have a representation of each era of the 20th century in fashion.”

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society held a free Founder’s Day Open House on Sunday in celebration of its 138th year.
