Thousands without power in central Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Thousands are without power in central Ohio.

WBNS is Columbus (http://bit.ly/187C7Js ) reports AEP officials say about 9,500 customers lost electricity Monday evening after a squirrel caused a system problem at a substation. Most of the affected customers are in the northwest side of Columbus.

The station reports the outage affected various traffic signals in the area.

AEP officials say the restoration time has been scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Monday.
