Turkey says it shot down Syrian helicopter

ISTANBUL (AP) — Turkey’s deputy prime minister says a Turkish jet has shot down a Syrian military helicopter after it entered Turkish airspace.

Bulent Arinc told reporters in Ankara that the pilots of the helicopter were warned repeatedly on Monday after they had strayed 2 kilometers (more than 1 mile) into Turkish airspace.
