Police in Farrell are investigating a rash of vandalism that includes smashing people’s windows and throwing a brick into a moving truck.
Seven residents reported their cars and homes were vandalized during the late night and early morning hours between Saturday and Sunday. Police said they believe all seven incidents were committed by the same people.
Reports say on Saturday, someone smashed out a window on a Cathedral Drive resident’s home and poured something on and around the car’s gas tank.
Another resident, in the 800 block of Park Avenue, reported someone broke an enclosed porch window panel with a concrete cinder block. A window to a resident’s car in the 1300 block of Farrell Terrace was broken, reports said.
At about 3:45 a.m. Sunday, a truck driver reported two people threw a brick at his car while driving on Mercer Avenue near Memorial Drive.
The driver told police the two were hiding until he approached, then appeared and threw the brick, hitting the truck.
Either a few minutes before or after, police said the same people broke a window to a home in the 1300 block of Union Street with a lawn ornament.
They then broke another window in the 1300 block of Buhl Terrace, police said. Another window was broken at about 3 a.m. in the 200 block of Shenango Boulevard.
