Youngstown police are investigating how a woman’s dead body ended up in a ditch.
Detectives, crime scene investigators and the county coroner’s office are all investigating after the woman’s body was found at about 11 a.m. Tuesday in a ditch on Keogh Avenue off McGuffey Avenue on the East Side.
The woman’s purse was laying in the roadway near her body, police said.
Coroner’s investigators said the woman is between 18 and 25 years old with tattoos. She had no obvious signs of trauma, investigators said.
“Her body temperature is such that she’s a little warm making us think maybe she’s been there only a few to several hours,” said Dr. Joseph Ohr. “There’s no actual trauma on the body and there’s not evidence at this time that there has been a sexual assault.”
Investigators are trying to identify her.
