Pa. sitter on probation in toddler deaths jailed

ERIE, Pa. (AP) — A northwestern Pennsylvania baby sitter convicted in the drowning deaths of two toddlers six years ago has been ordered back to prison following theft convictions and revocation of her parole.

The Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/18shdT8 ) says 26-year-old Brittany Steward of Erie was sentenced Monday in Erie County Court to a new term of 1¾ to 6 ½ years after pleading guilty to theft last month. Prosecutors said last fall she had repeatedly stolen from her employer.

Steward was on probation from an earlier 11½- to 23-month sentence on endangering counts in the deaths of her 20-month-old half-sister, Jenna Walker, and a 2-year-old friend, Maggie Kovski.

Authorities said they wandered out of the house and drowned in a pool in May 2007 after Steward fell asleep following a night of partying.
