Radiothon benefits children’s hospital

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Miracle and Promises Radiothon is under way at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

The fifth annual event is being broadcast live on Mix 98.9 and 570 WKBN from the Beeghly Campus in Boardman.

The telethon raises money for local programs and services that benefit children and families in our community. Last year, the radiothon brought in approximately $175,000 and organizers hope to top that this year.

“Fundraising is an essential element of what we do. We are very proud to be able to say that our doors are open to all children regardless of an ability to pay,” said Akron Children’s Hospital CEO Bill Considine. “Generosity from people in a community helps us make sure that promise stays alive.”

The third and final day for the Miracle and Promises Radiothon is Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
