GIRARD – The Indians welcomed Newton Falls on Friday night and proved to be very ungracious hosts, battering the Tigers 47-7.

The Indians, behind Nicke Cardiero, had their offense rolling early.

Cardiero connected with Chris Vince for a big gain in the first half, but Vince would fumble on the play, ending a promising drive.

But as the game continued, Cardiero and James Cupan would prove a tough tandem to stop as the Indians held a 41-0 lead heading into the half.

Girard will travel to Lakeview next Friday.

Newton Falls will host Champion.
