Lines long for new iPhone

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — The iPhone 5S and 5C went on sale Friday, and customers were waiting outside Valley retailers waiting for the new device.

Lines started forming early Friday at the Verizon store in Boardman. The phones went on sale at 8 a.m. through retailers, but were available at 3:01 a.m. on Apple’s website.

Initially, the devices will only be available in the U.S., Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

Pricing for the iPhone 5C begins at $99 while the higher end 5S starts at $199.
