GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) — Girard police have received dozens of calls  from people over McClurkin Funeral Home at 222 S. Main Street since it was revealed the business had its licenses revoked by the state.

The Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors suspended the funeral director’s license and the embalmers license of owners Patrick McClurkin and Robert McClurkin at a meeting on Monday following an investigation. A statement from the board says the McClurkins are accused of stealing more than $400,000 families had put down for pre-paid services.

The Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, Girard police and the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating, and criminal charges may be filed.

Girard police said anyone who has experienced problems with McClurkin Funeral Home  should call police at 330-545-0211.
