CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) — Local farmers partnered with local chefs to make some great dishes Saturday night.

Mill Creek Metroparks hosted its third annual Farmer and the Chef fundraiser at the Metroparks Farm in Canfield. Organizers got the idea for the event after seeing something similar done in another state.

Chefs used all locally sourced produce and meat. Proceeds from the event benefit agricultural education for local kids.

“We do a lot of programs for school children, probably 20,000 kids either come through here annually or we go out into the schools in the county and do farming and agricultural programming,” said Development and Marketing Director Linda Kostka. “This benefits the children and it benefits our educational program for the farm.”

About 250 people came out for the event.
