YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown’s one and only science center spilled out into the streets Sunday, offering exhibits it just couldn’t fit inside.

Exploding watermelons were seen at OH WOW! Children’s Center for Science and Technology, as part of the part of the third annual Silly Science Sunday.

Part of West Federal Street was shut down for a variety of hands-on activities, exhibitors and stage shows all related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

OH WOW! also opened a new visiting exhibit called “The Bone Zone Carnival of Healthy Choices.”

The Bone Zone features nine informative, interactive displays that engage children and adults to help them develop healthy habits.

Also taking part in the event were the Youngstown State University College of STEM, Home Depot of Boardman, Mill Creek MetroParks and several area robotics teams.
