NEWTON FALLS, Ohio (WKBN) — A craft show and fundraiser will be held Saturday in Newton Falls for a Craig Beach family that lost everything in an Aug. 13 fire.

The event’s organizer, Jessica Hampton, said Connie and Dennis Musser have three small children, ages 10, 8 and 20 months. They have found a new house in Newton Falls, but Hampton said the family is still struggling to get back on their feet, both emotionally and financially.

The fire actually started at a house next to theirs, but it spread to their house, which was just several feet away. Both homes were destroyed in the morning blaze.

Hampton said she herself was the victim of a house fire the week before Christmas in 2005. She said her family also lost everything in that fire, which occurred in Newton Falls.

She said she knows what the Musser family is going through and wanted to help them, just like people helped her and her family when their house burned down.

“Without the community and their support, we would not have been where we were,” Hampton said.

Saturday’s event will be held noon to 5 p.m. at the former Video Update store, 175 E. Broad St., which is at the corner of Route 534 in the center of town. There will be 42 crafters and vendors, raffles and food.

Hampton said she would like to raise at least $1,o00, but she would like to raise more if possible. She said the Musser family will be at the event.
