Mooney sends Reserve to first loss

Cardinal Mooney rallied past Western Reserve 3-2 (17-25, 25-20, 24-26, 26-24, 16-14) in high school volleyball action Monday night.

It was the first loss of the season for the Blue Devils.

McKenzie Reese led the Cardinals with 26 kills, while Gina Patella tallied 58 assists.

Nichole Webber also had a strong night for Mooney with 12 blocks in the win.

Aleah Hughesracked up 29 kills for Reserve, while Jenny Stubbs added 40 digs.  Rachel Maslach finished with 26 digs, 23 assists, and 16 kills in the setback.

Mooney improves to 14-2 on the season.  Reserve drops to 10-1.
