YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown police spent part of Tuesday afternoon recovering suspected stolen merchandise from a home on the city’s East Side.

Officers could be seen searching the home at 1507 Ravine Road. Approximately 35 car rims were recovered, as well as electronics, including several flat-screen TVs. All of the items were taken to the police station while the investigation continues.

The suspects are said to be adults, but no arrests have been made yet and the homeowner did comply with the search. Police said they will continue to work to prove the merchandise is stolen.

Youngstown Police Det. Sgt. Carl Davis said there has been a noticeable increase in burglaries on the East side in the past month, which prompted the investigation. He said tips from neighbors led police to the Ravine Road address, where a search warrant was executed on Tuesday.

“This is a perfect example of neighbors assisting us in our efforts,” Davis said. “I’ve been a police officer for 27 years and this is the most I’ve seen in one place.”

Officers said a pound of marijuana and a bulletproof vest also were found in the home. They also searched a shed in the backyard.
