SHARON, Pa. (WKBN) — Penn State Shenango will hold its 2nd annual Dr. Jane A. Williams Memorial 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Shenango campus located in downtown Sharon.

The event is in honor of Williams, who was employed at the Shenango campus for 25 years before passing away in May 2012 after a brief battle with brain cancer. The event will have a Jimmy Buffet theme since Williams was a huge fan of the singer.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three runners in each age group as well as the top overall male and female runners. Prizes also will be given for best Jimmy Buffet-themed attire.

Registration forms and more information are available by clicking here.

Participants can register from now until 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event. The cost is $20 for runners and $15 for walkers. For more information, contact the Student Affairs Office at 724-983-2836.

All proceeds will benefit the Dr. Jane A. Williams Memorial Trustee Scholarship fund.
