NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WKBN) — Dozens of residents in New Castle have returned to their apartments after an evacuation Wednesday morning.
Residents at the Riverside Apartments on West North Street were asked to leave the building around 8:30 a.m. after a leak was discovered in an industrial line. The leak originated in the basement and reached the fourth floor.
The complex consists of 50 to 60 units and houses mostly senior citizens.
The residents were moved to a community room of a church across the street while crews worked to fix the leak.
