Woman killed in motorcycle crash

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) — A woman from Adena, Ohio, was killed Thursday afternoon when the motorcycle she was riding on struck two trees in Columbiana County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred about 3 p.m. on state Route 9 south of Whinnery Road.

The motorcycle driver, Richard Hall, of Kingsport, Tenn., was traveling south on Route 9 when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side and into a wooded area, where he struck the two trees. He and his passenger, Kara Molnar, were ejected from the bike.

Molnar was pronounced dead at the scene. Hall was taken by helicopter to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

The patrol said neither Hall nor Molnar were wearing helmets. The crash remains under investigation.
