COLUMBIANA, Ohio (WKBN) — The players aren’t the only ones who compete when it comes to football.
On Sunday, it was the cheerleaders’ turn to battle.
Teams from the Mahoning Valley Junior Football League showed their best moves during an annual competition at Columbiana High School.
Coming out on top for the JV division was the squad from Crestview.
For varsity, first place was given to Columbiana.
“It is intense. The whole idea is to celebrate what the girls have done for the entire year,” said Organizer Amy Clark. “Really what we want to do is make sure they have an opportunity to kind of be the center of attention where in footbll their just on the sidelines cheering on the guys.”
Cheerleaders from Western Reserve, Springfield, Sebring, Lowellville and Struthers also competed in the event.
