Tropical depression moves over central Atlantic

MIAMI (AP) — Forecasters say a tropical depression is moving over the central Atlantic far from land.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said early Sunday that the depression has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph (55 kph) and could become a tropical storm later in the day.

The storm is about 1,000 miles (1,605 kilometers) east-southeast of Bermuda and is moving northeast at 9 mph (15 kph). Forecasters say there are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
