Police: W. Pa. woman hit by ricochet from gun

AMBRIDGE, Pa. (AP) — Police say a western Pennsylvania woman was grazed by a bullet that was fired by the father of her child.

Authorities say the unidentified 23-year-old woman was shot early Monday morning in Ambridge, which is about 15 miles north of Pittsburgh. The victim had been standing at a car with the father of her child when he began to argue with another friend, and the woman tried to intervene.

The unidentified man pulled out a gun and fired a couple of rounds, and a ricochet from one grazed the woman’s leg. Police say she wasn’t seriously hurt.

Authorities say they have a suspect but haven’t been able to locate him.
