“Bad Habit” monster truck sets new world record

Canfield’s Joe Sylvester recently set a new world record distance jump in his “Bad Habit” monster truck.

Sylvester jumped 237 feet, 6 inches at the 2013 Cornfield 500.  The 10,000 pound truck launched at 85 miles per hour to break the previous record of 214 feet, 8 inches.  Sylvester has an ultimate goal of 300 feet, or the length of a football field.

Sylvester has been racing monster trucks for eight years, and has won such prestigious events as the Young Guns Shootout in Las Vegas.
