Pennsylvania man charged with kidnapping girl, 9

LEBANON, Pa. (AP) — A 70-year-old central Pennsylvania man is charged with kidnapping a 9-year-old girl from her home.

Lebanon police said Willis Christ apparently entered the home through an unlocked door around 8:30 p.m. Monday while the girl was getting ready for bed and her mother was upstairs.

The girl told police that a man grabbed her from behind, covered her mouth and dragged her out to an alley next to her home.

Police Chief Daniel Wright said the girl was able to escape after a brief struggle and wasn’t injured. He said the victim and her family don’t know the suspect.

Christ remained in the Lebanon County Correctional Facility on $50,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 10.
