Pa. dealer takes longer sentence to spare mate

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A central Pennsylvania judge has agreed to a drug dealer’s chivalrous request to spend five extra years in prison in exchange for letting the man’s live-in girlfriend avoid a felony conviction and the resulting loss of her business, a bar.

The Altoona Mirror (http://bit.ly/18P5r7D ) reports that Blair County Judge Timothy Sullivan agreed to the unusual request, telling the defendant, 38-year-old Sean Graham, “Chivalry is not dead.”

Graham will spend 15 to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing nearly 10 ounces of cocaine and two guns found when the couple’s home was raided in March 2011.

Under the deal, Graham’s live-in girlfriend pleaded to a lesser misdemeanor and received 11 to 23 months in jail.

Graham told the judge he agreed to the deal because the raid was “all my fault.”
