Victim rescued in rubble of collapsed wall in Pa.

READING, Pa. (AP) — Rescue crews have managed to free a person trapped beneath the rubble of a cinderblock wall on a residential street in Reading.

The call came in to police just before 3 p.m. Wednesday that a wall had fallen on someone. The street where the collapse occurred is lined with older Victorian-era brick homes

Several witnesses rushed to help the victim until emergency crews could arrive on the scene.

Rescue crews worked for about a half hour, using air bags to lift the rubble and free the victim, who was rushed to Reading Hospital.

Officials on the scene said the victim’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. The person’s name was not immediately released.
