Annual Detroit Gallery Week runs through Sunday

DETROIT (AP) — The annual Detroit Gallery Week is offering contemporary art openings and exhibitions throughout the city.

Art Detroit Now’s event begins Thursday and runs through Sunday. Galleries are holding openings, exhibitions and special programs designed to showcase Detroit’s contemporary art scene and its artists.

It marks the sixth year for Detroit Gallery Week.

This year’s installment is focusing on the city’s arts districts: Downtown, Eastern Market, Midtown, Livernois, Woodbridge/Grand River, Southwest/Corktown and North End.
