HMHP to provide patient transportation

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Humility of Mary Health Partners is now offering free transportation to patients who may need help getting to their medical appointments.

A blessing was held Thursday for a new patient transportation van that will help patients get to their appointments at HMHP providers.

The van was dedicated outside the Churchhill Family Health Center in Liberty. The new van includes a lift and seating for six ambulatory and two wheelchairs riders.

“It’s very important. We identified through comments and feedback we got from out patients that a lot of them have issues getting to and from our practices,” said Rod Neill, director of physician services. “This allows not only ambulatory, but it can also provide transportation for those who are wheelchair bound as well.”

There are no service area restrictions for the round-trip service. Patients must contact their doctor’s office at least seven days prior to their scheduled appointment. Scheduling is done on a first come, first served basis.
