Mahoning County helping with tap-in fees

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Mahoning County is helping residents pay for sewer tap-in fees.

Mahoning County Commissioners voted Thursday to establish a sewer tap-in assistance grant program. It is available to low-to-moderate income owner-occupied households.

They can apply for up to $9,000 of the cost of mandatory tap-in fees required by the Mahoning County Board of Health.

The Mahoning County Sanitary Engineer’s Office will set aside $50,000 each year for the program.
