Minor injuries in blast at Ohio munitions plant

NEWTOWN, Ohio (AP) — An explosion at an ammunition facility in southwestern Ohio has caused minor injuries to three employees.

Little Miami Fire Lt. Tim Allen says a small container holding ammunition parts exploded Wednesday morning underneath a work table, which got the brunt of the blast at One Shot Ammunition Manufacturing in Newtown, just east of Cincinnati.

Allen said the three employees injured had minor cuts and burns and likely would be released from local hospitals Wednesday.

Allen says firefighters are investigating what caused the blast, which appears to be accidental.

He says the business is reputable and longstanding.

A message left at One Shot was not immediately returned.
