McDonald edges out rival Mineral Ridge

MINERAL RIDGE – McDonald beats rival Mineral Ridge 18-14.

The Rams jumped on top early on a 28 yard touchdown pass from Jonathan Baker to Brandon Perkins.

Later in the half, the Blue Devils cracked the score board on an eight yard touchdown run by Matt Morrell, but a failed extra point attempt kept the Rams ahead by one.

McDonald would find the end zone again before the end of the first half on a Ben Carkido one yard touchdown run. The two point conversion failed, and the Blue Devils took a 12-7 lead into halftime.

Each team would find the endzone once in the 2nd half, but the Blue Devils prevailed.

McDonald improves to 4-2 on the year, while Mineral Ridge drops to 4-2.
