YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – New and expectant moms, and their babies, learned how to live healthier lives at the 8th annual City Wide Baby Shower.
A few fathers and grandparents were also in attendance Monday afternoon at the McGuffey Center in Youngstown.
Several vendors were available with the latest information on everything from car seat safety to breast feeding and even tax preparation.
There was also fun and games, just like that of a real baby shower.
“So hopefully they’ll leave here today with prizes and information,” said Mistress of Ceremonies, Jackie Adair.
“And having an event like this is great because it’s all in one place, they don’t have to call 15 different people to get the information, they can all come together, all get the information and it’s a great resource for them,” added Gia Ramsey of Akron’s Children’s Hospital of the Mahoning Valley.
The free baby shower is held each year on Martin Luther King Junior Day to celebrate his legacy and fight for civil rights and education for all.
