Clarett speaks to kids in Lowellville

Maurice Clarett

Maurice Clarett was in the area Wednesday evening to speak at The Riot.

The former Warren G. Harding Raider and Ohio State Buckeye shared his story with teens in 7th through 12th grades at the youth club of Victory Christian Center.

Youth pastor Nathan Ortiz said both the evening and the venue are designed to help any teens who seek it.

“I really always want to provide them just an opportunity to hear someone’s life who has really gone through something tough and has become victorious over it and Maurice has the story, that comeback story,” Ortiz said.

In addition to Clarett, the evening included musical performances and even an arm wrestling contest.
