Purdue building reopens day after deadly shooting

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) – The Purdue University building where authorities say one student fatally shot another has reopened.

The Electrical Engineering Building reopened at noon Wednesday.

Purdue police say they haven’t determined why 23-year-old Cody Cousin shot 21-year-old Andrew Boldt of West Bend, Wis., inside a basement classroom Tuesday.

University spokeswoman Liz declined to say whether any other students were in the room at the time, but no other injuries were reported.

Purdue Police Chief John Cox says witnesses believed the shooting was an intentional act but that investigators didn’t have immediate indication of past troubles between Cousins and Boldt.

Cousins is being held at the Tippecanoe County Jail on a preliminary charge of murder.
